Germination: The Beginning of a Verdant Journey

To start growing your precious cannabis seeds, the first step is to ensure that they germinate properly, turning into robust and healthy plants. The germination process is delicate and requires specific attention and care. Follow this step-by-step guide to optimize your chances of success.

Required Material:

- Cannabis seeds
- Purified water
- Paper towels
- Dishes
- Clamp

Step 1: Hydration of the Seeds

Place your seeds in a glass of purified water and let them soak for about 14 to 18 hours. Seeds that sink after this period generally have a greater chance of germinating.

Step 2: Preparing the Environment

Prepare two plates and some paper towels. Moisten the paper towels with purified water, making sure they are not soggy.

Step 3: Germination on Paper Towel

Using tongs, transfer the seeds from the cup to the plate, placing them on the damp paper towel. Cover the seeds with another layer of equally damp paper towel. Close the ensemble with another plate turned upside down, creating a dark and humid environment.

Step 4: Monitoring and Maintenance

Keep the germination environment in a warm place, between 20°C and 25°C, and away from direct light. Check the seeds regularly to ensure the paper towels remain damp.

Step 5: Wait for the Magic to Happen

In general, seeds begin to germinate in 2 to 7 days. Once the seed root (also called radicle) reaches a few millimeters in length, it will be ready to be planted.

Step 6: Planting

Carefully, use the tweezers to transfer the germinated seed to your chosen growing medium, be it earth, rockwool, coconut or other. The radicle must be facing downwards. Gently cover the seed with a thin layer of growing medium.

Step 7: Initial Growth

Keep the soil slightly moist, but not soggy, and ensure your young plants receive plenty of indirect light for strong growth.

Important Notes:

- Seed handling must be done with the utmost care to avoid damage to the radicle.
- If after 10 days the seed does not germinate, it is likely not viable.
- Keep in mind that the germination of cannabis seeds is governed by local laws that must be respected and known before starting cultivation.

By following this guide carefully, your cannabis seeds will be well on their way to becoming lush plants with the potential to provide high-quality flowers. Cultivate with patience and attention, and you will be able to reap the fruits that this miraculous biological process has to offer.
